Meet Andy

Most aspiring screenwriters don’t fail because they lack talent. They fail because they’re overwhelmed, uncertain, or stuck collecting advice instead of writing pages. How do I know this? Because I’ve spent over 30 years working at the highest levels of the film business.

Empowering Screenwriters to Tell Their Stories

With a career spanning three decades in Hollywood, Andy Raymer has worked as both a studio executive and professional screenwriter at the industry’s highest levels. He was a studio executive for Steven Spielberg at DreamWorks, ran the film division at The Kennedy Marshall Company during the “Jurassic World” reboot and critically acclaimed films like “Sully,” and served as Executive Vice President at MGM overseeing content development for features and streaming. As a screenwriter, he has worked for Disney Animation, Disney Television, Constantin, and Vanguard Films, the producers of “Shrek.” Through it all, he has learned one truth: the industry doesn’t care where you went to school. Studios only ask one question: Is your script any good?

That’s why he created StoryMavericks. This 8-week program cuts through the noise of expensive MFAs and academic theory to give writers what actually matters: clarity, confidence, and a professional process based on fundamental storytelling elements. No debt. No term papers on obscure French films. Just craft, structure, and weekly assignments designed to get students from idea to draft. Whether writing a first serious screenplay or strengthening existing work, StoryMavericks provides the tools and understanding necessary to succeed in an industry that only cares about the quality of your pages.
